Our Minister

My name is Andy I am married to Diane and between us we have 7 children and 4 granddaughters. Our children live across the world, in places as diverse as China, Spain, Germany, Preston and Macclesfield. We came to West Yorkshire having just spent 7 years in Macclesfield in Cheshire. I spent a short time out of the ministry when my first marriage broke up, Diane and I have been happily married for 13 years.

I have been an ordained minister for over 25 years and have served in many different places around the country. Besides working in churches I also spent 5 years as full time hospice chaplain at St Catherine’s Hospice in Preston. In my last appointment I worked part time as chaplain at East Cheshire Hospice and part time overseeing two local Methodist churches.

Outside of church life I enjoy a spot of coarse fishing and keeping an eye on my home football team Preston North End. My other passion in life is farm tractors. Having worked on a farm during my school days and on leaving school for short time, they were just something I fell in love with. It was great when waiting for a church meeting to start at West Ardsley one evening, I was able to stand at the end of the road and watch a combine bringing in the harvest. We have certainly been warmly welcomed and are looking forward to our ministry here.
